With this Xyz Monster, there's no stopping me!

If only that where indeed true Shark. Loading... in principle is a very cool Ace Monster, granting every other Monster you control with additional ATK points each turn - and more on top of that with it's Master Skill. It's a deck that prioritizes an Aggro playstyle, but is unfortunately outclassed in almost every single way by Cohesion decks focused around Loading... - a Free to Play accessible Rare Monster, and that's before we even touch on how many counters exist that will shut down your entire strategy in a second.

Synergistic Cards

The main bulk of your deck will be made up of Level 3 Monsters with the Focus Skill. At the moment there's about 10 in the game total, 8 of which are R rarity. These are generally weaker monsters meaning you'll want to support them with generic high-ATK utility monsters like Loading... and Loading... . You can also consider running extra Level 3 Monsters without Focus that have higher ATK points or useful skills such as ATK Support .

We can also take advantage of two unique trap cards. Loading... grants a bonus activation of Focus, which if used when Leviathan Dragon is on the field will give an additional 600 ATK boost on top of the 600 we already received this turn. Loading... , while not as powerful, can help in situations where ATK Debuff , Detonated might threaten to end our strategy early.

Strategy Notes

If you have mainly opened Level 3 Monsters:

  • Aim to Summon Loading... in Attack Position on Turn 1 in either of your left or right lanes. Make sure to keep at least 1 high-ATK level 3 with Focus in hand for the turn 2 follow up, and summon your other monsters to the open side or centre lanes. This deck is all about putting pressure on your opponents, and trading blows for as much value as possible.

  • Your Leviathan Dragon should have comfortably dealt with any Monster summoned in that lane and be ready to gain more ATK on your next turn. Summon another Focus Monster (or high ATK Level 4) directly behind it in the same lane, and do the same for any other lanes your Monsters are in. Leviathan Dragon should be able to stick around providing Focus boosts for 2-3 turns at minimum, so repeat this general line of play until you have whittled away your opponent's Monsters and their LP!

If you have opened any of your Level 4 utility monsters:

  • Summon those first to one of your side lanes and save Leviathan Dragon's summon for Turn 2. Loading... or Loading... are your best start here. You'll still want to summon Monsters to your other lanes, but make sure you have enough materials ready for next turn.

  • Summon Leviathan Dragon on Turn 2, and repeat the same general strategy as above. You want to keep summoning Monsters wherever there's a battle to be fought. This line will keep Leviathan Dragon around for longer in the Duel, which will give you more time to see any of your support Spell/Trap cards, but will generally result in your other Monsters being a tad weaker.

The general idea is to overrun your opponent with more Monsters than they can realistically deal with. Use Loading... when your opponent has their back to the wall to allow all your monsters to deal damage.

Future Upgrades

Like Sevens Road Magician, Leviathan Dragon can also benefit further from it's Master Skill by setting Focus in your second Skill slot, raising the total attack Leviathan gains each turn to 600. This will go a long way to helping you survive through turns 3 and 4 and to extend that boost for the other Monsters in your deck. Immunity: Position Change should be your choice for your third Skill slot to play around monsters with Intimidate and Loading... /Loading... but using a second Focus does sound tempting if you like to play risky.

Loading... and Loading... are both SR Monsters which can learn Focus, and can be played in place of weaker ATK monsters, however the biggest upgrade is access to Loading... . Not only is it the highest ATK Level 3 in the game, but its Special Skill(Big Jaws) grants Stealth to any monster with Focus. Time the summon right, and you can bypass your opponent's defense to close out the game instantly. As mentioned in our Introduction to Exodia, we can also run Loading... as a generic Utility monster with the ATK Support skill. Any ATK boost is greatly appreciated, not only will it protect our LP from any open lanes for a turn, but if need be we can even use Exodia as an Xyz Material for Leviathan Dragon.

Once again we'd like to recommend Loading... if you can find space for it, and Loading... for those edge cases where one player might have caught you off guard.

Watch Out For..

  • Leviathan Dragon has 0 DEF. If your opponent summons a Monster with Intimidate or uses Loading... / Loading... , then you better hope you have a response up your sleeve!
  • Seal . This Skill will shut down Leviathan Dragon's bonus Focus activation and ATK boost, causing all your other monsters to revert to only gaining 200 ATK per turn instead of 600.
  • Loading... : Need I say more?

Shouldn't I just summon Leviathan Dragon in DEF and stack ATK for multiple turns?

Whilst you theoretically can do this, in reality this causes more harm than good. The whole focus of this deck is to keep your opponents constantly on their toes with a seemingly endless wave of Monsters coming their way. If you interrupt that flow for even a single turn, that gives them 2 turns worth of Monster summons to break your Leviathan Dragon, or any of your other Monsters for that matter. And once Leviathan Dragon goes, you're reliant on what you have left to pick up the pieces.
